STEM
STEM education is the intentional integration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and their associated practices to create a student-centered learning environment in which students investigate and engineer solutions to problems, and construct evidence-based explanations of real-world phenomena with a focus on a student’s social, emotional, physical, and academic needs through shared contributions of schools, families, and community partners.

"Congratulations to Scoil na mBuachaillí on your amazing achievement! Your school has done a lot of valuable STEM work throughout the year. Well done to all the learners and teachers, you should be very proud of yourselves. We are amazed at all the work you have put into your school garden, from growing your own flowers, vegetables, beans and even making your own leaf composter! The video the learners made for your Global Classroom Project was fantastic and provided great information on this interesting initiative. The presentations and podcasts the learners worked on were brilliant. It is clear that they are very talented and knowledgeable on their chosen topics. It is great to see all the preparation that the learners put into their ESB Science Blast submission and that they had the opportunity to showcase their STEM work to their parents. Keep up all the amazing work future Scientists!"
