🧠🎡 Science Blast 2026 🎡🧠

20th May 2026

Today, Ms Hayes’s 4th Class, accompanied by Mrs Harte, proudly represented SNB at Science Blast in the University of Limerick! πŸ‘πŸ”¬

The boys presented their excellent project:
🎢 “Does Music Help Our Brain Power?” 🎢

Through a series of creative experiments, the class investigated how different types of music can affect memory, literacy, maths and concentration. Their project display attracted huge attention throughout the exhibition, with many pupils, teachers and visitors stopping to learn more about their findings. πŸ“ŠπŸŽ§

The boys did a fantastic job presenting and explaining their project to the judges and visitors. They spoke with great confidence, enthusiasm and knowledge about their experiments, results and conclusions, and they were a real credit to our school. βπŸ‘

The project was extremely well received in UL, and the judge was especially impressed with the boys’ teamwork, scientific thinking and presentation skills. It was wonderful to see the pupils so engaged and proud of all their hard work.

This was such a clever and creative investigation, beautifully combining our school’s wonderful musical tradition with STEM learning — something that made the project especially meaningful and unique for our pupils. πŸŽΌπŸ’‘πŸ’™

The class also thoroughly enjoyed exploring the many interactive STEM exhibitions and hands-on activities throughout the day, making it a brilliant learning experience for everyone involved. πŸš€

At SNB, we place a huge emphasis on the importance of STEM education and love providing opportunities for our pupils to explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths in creative, practical and engaging ways. Events like Science Blast help to inspire curiosity, confidence and a lifelong love of learning. πŸ’™

As if the day couldn’t get any better, 4th Class received a plaque in recognition of their wonderful project — a proud moment for everyone involved! πŸ…πŸ‘

To top it all off, we made a very important stop on the way home for some well-earned ice cream after a long and exciting day! πŸ¦πŸ˜„

A huge well done to all the boys involved and sincere thanks to Ms Hayes for all her hard work and dedication preparing the project. We are incredibly proud of everyone involved! πŸ‘πŸ’™
