Our love of reading continues to grow in school! ❤️📖 Through our strong literacy programmes and a print-rich environment, we are helping pupils become confident readers and develop a lifelong love of books. Regular visits to Clonakilty Library 🏛️📚 always spark great excitement for stories and reading.
We’re delighted that our school has been selected to take part in the Everyone a Reader Programme 🎉📚. As part of the programme, we are looking forward to working with our Champion of Reading, author Elizabeth Rose Murray (E.R. Murray) ✍️, who will lead inspiring workshops with our pupils when she visits our school on Wednesday 19th March 📅📚✨.

Work is underway on a brand new library area in the school! 🪑📚✨ A huge thank you to Finbarr 🔨 who is creating a beautiful bespoke library space where pupils will be able to relax, read and explore new books.
We have also introduced a Library Management System through Aladdin 💻📚 to help organise our growing collection, and we will be appointing pupil librarians who will help manage the library and promote reading throughout the school.
Our own Ms Carol O’Boyle ⭐ has been leading the project — securing books through the Free to Me and Every Child a Reader initiatives 📦📚 and designing the library area with an engaging display to help pupils discover all the wonderful books available.
