At our school, we’re lucky to have more than just a fantastic school secretary—we have an award-winning baker in our midst! Noreen, our much-loved secretary, is not only the friendly face who keeps things running smoothly in the office, but she’s also a talented baker who competed in the 2024 National Ploughing Championships.
Noreen’s baking talents are well known throughout the school community, and we are delighted that she regularly shares her passion with the children. Recently, Rang 7 made a special request to Principal Norma Harte—could Noreen be excused from her usual duties for a while… so she could help them bake? It was a heartfelt plea that Mrs Harte couldn’t possibly turn down!
Together, the pupils and Noreen rolled up their sleeves, donned aprons, and got stuck into a hands-on baking session. From measuring ingredients to mixing, kneading, and of course—tasting—there were smiles all around. These sessions not only teach valuable life skills, but also foster teamwork, patience, and plenty of joy.
We’re so proud to have such talented and generous staff who go above and beyond to make learning meaningful, memorable, and fun. A huge thank you to Noreen for sharing her time, her skills, and her secret recipes with us all!
