Concern Primary Debates
The Concern Primary Debates are organised in conjunction with Education Support Centres across Ireland. Debating encourages our pupils to;
-
Learn to speak confidently in public and in front of their peers
-
Develop cognitive, language, research, and debating skills
-
Gain a deeper understanding of global issues affecting millions of people
-
Receive a Certificate of Participation
Our 6th Class pupils recently took part in Round 1 of the Concern Primary Debates on Thursday, November 6th, where they proposed the motion:
“Social Media should be banned for under 16s.”
Both teams performed brilliantly, showing excellent preparation and teamwork. We extend our best wishes to Scoil Eoin as they progress to Round 2.
A huge congratulations to our 6th Class students and their teachers, Ms. Niamh MacAuley and Mr. Seán Daly, for their hard work in preparing the teams so well. Well done also to all classmates who contributed through research, timekeeping, and supporting their peers throughout the process.
Debating is alive and thriving at Scoil na mBuachaillí!
