Creative February 2026 at Scoil na mBuachaillí
This February, Scoil na mBuachaillí took part in the Arts Council’s Creative February 2026 initiative, joining schools across Cork and throughout the country in celebrating creativity.
The theme, “Connect with Nature,” inspired many thoughtful and imaginative activities throughout the school. Pupils drew inspiration from the neighbouring cherry blossom tree, carefully observing its shape, colour and fine detail to create beautiful artwork that captured the first signs of spring.
Others explored the emerging daffodils around the school grounds, using them as a starting point for art, discussion and reflection. The changing season sparked creativity and encouraged pupils to look more closely at the natural world around them.
Using our in-house kiln, some pupils also created beautiful glass hearts inspired by natural shapes and colours. This hands-on experience allowed them to explore texture, light and design while developing their artistic skills in a unique and meaningful way.
Creative February was a wonderful opportunity to highlight something we value greatly in Scoil na mBuachaillí — curiosity, imagination and creative expression across all areas of learning. We were very proud of the enthusiasm and creativity shown by our pupils throughout the month.
